WHY????

  • Mood: VERY CROSS!!!!!!

WHY????

You would think animal sanctuary on the gate, might make people think twice about taking something that isn't theirs!!!!  BUT NO!!!!!!

I went down the stables tonight to find some kind BEEEEEEEEP!!!!!  had walked away with the electric fencing box, it  links the fence to a battery which reminds the horses not to go through it !!

It is the only thing which stops the horses walking straight on to a main road!!!

Did these kind soles think of the safety of the horses!!! NO!!!!!!!! they took it anyway!!!!

It will cost £110 to replace and the only thing the police could say was.........

"did you see who took it??"

The reason they didn't take the battery was it weighs 40kgs, but if they could have I am sure they would have!!!!!  Low or what!!!!! I hope they fingers burn!!!!!

SPRING CLEANING.....OH NO !!!!

Sometimes you just have to smile, don't you??!!!

Sheila and I were clearing up the blanket shed, towels, pillows, sheets, blankets and dog beds all in bags and we couldn't see what we had in there!!!! This will give you an idea how much stuff there is!!! We started at 11am and finished at 5pm!!!!!  We use so many blankets and towels!!!

We opened a bag, the tag read........ clean sleeping bag.......... washed..// may 86"    We checked it twice, and yes it really does say may 1986"!!!!!!!   It has to be the oldest clean item ever!!!   Smile, we did!!!! You never know what you will find!!

Thanks Sheila, you are a star!!!!!

Bertie!!

Hiya all,

We have had a busy weekend!!! The worst bit was finding Bertie, one of our little dogs in a really bad state!! He had to be rushed to the vets at 2.30am. Bertie, 13 year old terrier. Keith's sole mate  had had a heart attact!!!! We almost lost him!!!!! He is doing much better now . Bertie has a pile of pills for life, but as long as he is still with us, happy and full of it. We don't care how much it costs!!!! Vets bills!!!!!!!! never mind, what's money for, if not to spend on loved ones??????

other news!!!

We have had alot of stuff coming in for the sale on the 23rd Feb @ Walcott Village Hall.

We still would love some more please!!!

Huge THANKS to the very kind person who sent us some towels and bedding!!! The p/office ripped the paper, so we have no idea who to write to, to say thank you!!!

There are some great people out there !!!! We are lucky to meet lots of them!!!!!

                                           Thank you all !!!!

We need your help!

  • Mood:

Hello all

We have posted this on the local freecycle groups but are appealing to everyone here too!

Wondering if anyone can help, are in desperate need of oil filled electric radiators (preferably small, mobile ones but anything considered as its getting mighty chilly for those animals kept indoors!!!)

Also we really need more small cages for keeping baby hedgehogs in, due to the mild weather many have been born late and wont survive hibernation so they get to stay with us instead!. Sorry but hamster cages are just too small, anything slightly bigger i.e. chinchilla cages are perfect really!

Also, as always we can always use blankets, towels or anything that could be used for animal bedding.

Anything you could think of that may help, please ask and we can let you know!

 Thank you!!!!

Hello all!

  • Mood:

I would like to apologise for the lack of updates on the website. It’s been a busy few weeks as you can imagine but we strive to get everything on board once again ship shape and as up to date as possible on here as soon as possible!

(From Dief the web dawg).

A big thank you goes out to those who have already joined the mailing list – please see the link on the main page or the contact us page if you haven’t already joined. Lyz has already been writing some newsletters for the next issue so join now so you dont miss them!

Contact us!

The good news is we already have had plenty of attention thanks to the work done at Hallswood and the new website. Holly from Thorpe house school recently did a fantastic “Press pack” feature on the BBC’S Newsround programme on the dangers hedgehogs are facing this year due to the mild weather.

Congratulations on such a wonderful report!

“Click here to see the Newsround programme Hallswood featured in”

(If you move the slider across to above the 'P' in the word player underneath, takes you straight to the feature)

We also have two new sponsors of animals who have been added to the website!

Thanks to Johnny & Kitty for sponsoring Snowy the Swan!

Also thanks to Glenys Banks for sponsoring the little owl now named “Wol”

Would you like to sponsor an animal?

Please call us on 01603 754157!!!

As always thank you all so much for your continued support, we couldn’t do any of this without you!

Thank you all
